Submissions for Winter Solstice 2023 are now open! If you are interested in writing a piece for this next issue, please consider the following:

The Kali Yugam is 432,000 years long. We are 5,124 years into this yugam. After this, the pralaya period will come which is “PM” for Brahma. In other words, all of time that we know, exists within one day of Lord Brahma. 100 years of Brahma is equivalent to one Mahakalpa which is equivalent to one Universe. This Kali Yugam that we are in is merely part of a cycle, and we can learn how to navigate this period of destruction by learning our scriptures.

The concept for this issue is to symbolically represent all that exists in the Kali Yugam – large, ornate jewelry, overcrowded cities, vanity & greed. This is to highlight the issues in present times and bring them back to the scriptures that predicted everything occurring now. Some key thematic elements – the color red, Gunas, destruction of our climate, political unrest etc. Another element is the understanding that our Dharma in this era is going away and our senses of duty and devotion are becoming weaker and weaker.

Questions to Consider:

1.     What is your outlook on society at the moment?

2.     What is chaotic about our time period?

3.     In what ways are we continuing to embody the problems of our society?

4.     How have corruption, greed, and the obsession with sex taken over civilization?

5.     What in our society continues to separate us?

6.     What motivates you to help change the world?

7.     How can we change the world for the better?
